The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Hey guys! Just lettin' y'all know that I'll probably be organizing my gallery today

(Not right this minute, but eventually)

I have a lot of stuff in my featured gallery that should really be in my scrapbook, and I have some things (both featured and scrapped) that should just be in storage all together @__@

I'm not one of those people who gets ridiculously embarrassed about their old art. I see my drawings like a trip down memory lane, each one from a different time and place. Plus its cool to see how one changes and improves over time

Every step of the way was part of the learning process! (and I'm still learning, as you all know XD)

However there's still some pieces that- even if I'm not ashamed of them- really don't belong in my gallery.

Its kind of hard to explain! (I guess its like embarrassment, but no regrets what-so-ever!)

So if you wanna go look at my crappy early stuff or save them for future blackmailing, now would be the time to do that!
