EDIT: Changed the part about colors clashing. Turns out Purple and Green can go together, but when they're too Saturated, they look like they clash! My bad :'D
EDIT 2: Well, I guess a gamer cutie mark isn't so out of the question now! But stick to maybe a basic Joystick/buttons, since Hearts & Hooves Day confirmed that they do have video games- just in primitive arcade-style, if that makes sense.
EDIT 3: Uh...apparently Gradients are canon, if you count Cadence's wings. Not a very memorable design feature imo, (I think she'd look just fine without them) but Hasbro probably willed it so.
OMG My Hiatus is almost over ; w ;
BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING, LEMME DIRECT YOU TO BETTER OC TUTORIALS: [link][link]
Remember, a LOT of this stuff is just my personal opinions and since my art isn't any good, it shouldn't be taken seriously in the least.
But I still wanted to make something that would (hopefully) be useful for anyone out there wanting to avoid MLP OC-cliche's. (As far as looks go) There's no wrong or right way to make an OC!
Still, special shout-out to all the bronies over on Ponibooru for helping me out (and giving me the guts to upload this)
If you want me to make a part 2 (which would be about actual character brain-storming) just let me know!
Hey, you don't have to feel so outcast just because you're left-handed! Apparently left-handedness means that your right brain is dominant, and that means you should be naturally good at drawing. I don't think art is something that can be taught anyway. I'm left-handed too, and I am also currently trying to learn to draw ponies (see my gallery?). Why not give it a try at least?
Is it weird I think that oc look BUCKING AMAZING. I mean, i agree with you on everything (except the alicorn bit, but I'm not getting into that right now), but oc looks cool. Like some sort of mlp pokemon.
It's nearly impossible to mirror those techniques, before anything is said.
